This part of our website gives you information on the area of rural West Wales and the three diverse counties of Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion.

West Wales is one of Britain's most beautiful areas comprising hills and mountains, rivers, ancient woodlands, gorges, estuaries and picturesque sandy beaches. This western corner of Wales offers busy, but quaint market towns, villages, and rural hamlet communities as well as many working farms and craft businesses.

Carmarthenshire

Carmarthenshire is often referred to as 'the garden of Wales'.

As well as being the location of Wales' newest garden, the National Botanic Garden of Wales, and also one of its oldest, the historic and atmospheric Aberglasney, the whole County boasts some of Wales' finest green landscapes such as the Tywi and Teifi Valleys.

It's a perfect combination of market towns, sandy beaches, country pubs; relaxing walks and a range of stunning castles that include the cliff top Carreg Cennen within the Brecon Beacons National Park.

With its rich mix of museums, galleries, countryside, leisure centres, attractions and events, Carmarthenshire has something for everyone.

Pembrokeshire

Fishguard Old Harbour in North Pembrokeshire.

Pembrokeshire is one of Europe's finest stretches of natural coastal beauty.

Much of the County is conserved and protected as part of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, famous for its coastal path.

Pembrokeshire has the UK's highest number of Blue Flag beaches, excellent modern attractions, unrivalled opportunities for outdoor activities and a mix of seaside resorts to 'get away from it all' locations.

Ceredigion

Cardigan Island nestles in Cardigan Bay located on the west coastline of Mid Wales, lapped by Cardigan Bay waves, Ceredigion is sheltered from the east by the Plynlimon mountain range.

Riding, fishing, cycling and walking in the magnificent Cambrian Mountains are within easy reach of award-winning beaches along the Ceredigion Heritage Coast.
